The Savanna-la-mar police are currently investigating the circumstances under which a St James man was shot and killed, during an early morning attack by gunmen in Westmoreland, on Saturday morning.
The dead man has been identified as 35-year-old Barrington Blake, otherwise called 'Keno', of a Providence Heights address in Flanker, St James.
Reports from the Constabulary Communication Unit are that, on January 31, about 4:10 a.m., Blake was at a house in Ducketts Stop, Westmoreland, with two other men, when armed men arrived at the premises and opened fire on the trio, before fleeing.
The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, Blake and one of the other two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital, where Blake succumbed to his injuries and the other man was admitted.
