Dead is Logan Taylor, otherwise called 'Tico', 36-year-old bus driver of Bog Walk, St Catherine.
Reports are that about 11p.m., Taylor arrived home.
He was accosted by his attacker/s who kicked off his house door.
Taylor was shot repeatedly and died as a result of injuries received.
Meanwhile, the residents of the community are fearful and are hoping that Taylor's killing is not a trend.
The St Catherine North Major Investigation Task Force has started a probe into the matter.
With 26 recorded murders in the St Catherine North division since the start of the year, the division is leading the country's homicide number.
