The Negril police in Westmoreland are investigating circumstances surrounding a double fatal shooting yesterday involving two alleged gangsters in the parish.
THE WEEKEND STAR understands that both men, who have been at odds for sometime, ran into each other yesterday, brandished their firearms and opened fire hitting each other.
Up to press time, the police did not release the identities of the men. THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that the men are from opposing gangs operating in the parish.
Reports are that both men died on the spot, however, no confirmation was provided as to the whereabouts of the firearms used in the shooting. The police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) confirmed the incident when contacted by our news team last evening.
However, when further details were sought, THE WEEKEND STAR was told that the police were still gathering information at the scene.
