The Crown alleged that Hunter arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) on June 5 at approximately 3:05 p.m. when he was to check in to board a flight to CuraƧao.

During security procedures, it is believed that the accused man was stopped, interviewed, and searched by police officers. His suitcase was alleged to have a false compartment made of fiberglass, containing eight rectangular parcels containing a compressed vegetable matter resembling ganja. Hunter was reportedly taken into custody by lawmen thereafter.

Subsequently, the accused was ordered further remanded by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey and is to return to court on July 7.
