One 9mm Browning pistol and a magazine, loaded with four rounds of ammunition, were handed over to the Sandy Bay police in Sandy Bay, Hanover, on Tuesday.
Information received from the police is that about 6:30 a.m., a public passenger bus was travelling on the Sandy Bay main road in the parish, when an argument developed between two male passengers.
The police said one of the men pulled a firearm and fired a single shot in the direction of the other man. A tussle ensued at which time the firearm was taken from him. Both men fell from the bus and the police were alerted.
A team of officers carried out a search of the community during which the firearm was retrieved. The attacker, however, could not be located.
The police are asking anyone with information that can assist them with their investigations, to contact the Sandy Bay police at 953-5312, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.
