When the matter was called up Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court the accused, Dale Stavrose, pleaded not guilty to the charge of extortion.
The court heard that he tried to extort cash from the complainant, whom it is alleged he believe is in love with him.
The court heard that Stavrose on multiple occasions stalked the complainant saying she owes him cash and kind.
Allegations are that the accused would follow the complainant to the bus stop and would ignore her when asked to desist.
Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser ordered an psychiatric evaluation saying that would determine if the accused is fit to stand trial.
The accused also asked that his case be removed to another court because he was not seeing eye to eye with the court clerk, however, she shunned his proposal.
Stavrose is to return to court on May 22.
His fingerprints were also taken.
