A US fugitive held in Jamaica on Tuesday is to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court today for possible extradition proceedings.Cleon Brown, 59, of Auborn Avenue, New York, and Chester Castle, Hanover, was held in Chester Castle about 5:30 a.m. by members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Mobile Reserve Division.
Police said in April 2013, Brown was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Hernandez, 33, during which she was attacked. Shortly after the incident, Brown fled to Jamaica. Hernandez's decomposed body was later found in his apartment with a stab wound, and he was subsequently indicted in October 2013 in the state of New York for her murder.
