Five men were arrested on Tuesday after 40 pounds of ganja was discovered in the vehicle in which they were travelling. Reports are that police from the Manchester Highway Patrol were patrolling in Kendal when they signalled a grey 2004 Toyota Fielder motor car to stop.

The driver is alleged to have disobeyed and the police gave chase, which ended along the Cool Shade road where the vehicle was found with a punctured tyre.

The men, Sheldon Morris of Retreat, 30-year-old Conroy Laing from Higgins Town, 29-year-old Herron Foster of Borobridge, 43-year-old Asford Dennis of Albert Town and 28-year-old Winston Henry of Claremont; were arrested and charged with possession of, dealing in and trafficking of ganja.

They are set to appear in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate's Court on February 6.
