Things did look normal inna one little corner of St. Andrew until di devil decide fi visit. It was a cool evening, and di vibes inna di bar did sweet. People were just relaxing after a long day of work, sipping on some cold beverages and talking bout di latest news. Nobody never know seh death did a walk round di corner, waiting fi strike inna a way dat nobody expect. Di regular patrons did a enjoy dem self, not knowing dat di peace was about fi get shattered by some man wid evil intentions.
As di music did a play inna di background, two man walk inna di establishment. Dem never look like people who come fi cause trouble at first. In fact, dem gwaan like dem a regular customer who just thirsty and looking fi a quick refreshment. Dem walk up to di bar and coolly order a drink, acting like everything was alright. Di bartender, not knowing di badniss dem man deh have inna dem heart, serve dem just like anyone else. It was a cold and calculated move, designed fi make everybody lower dem guard before di violence start.
But as soon as di drink touch di counter, di atmosphere change instantly. Before anyone could even blink, di man dem pull out dem iron and start blaze. Di target was a man who was just sitting there, probably thinking he was safe among friends. Di sound of di gunshots tear through di air, loud like thunder, and suddenly di peaceful vibes turn into pure chaos and screaming. People did a dive fi cover, hiding behind chairs and crates, praying to God dat dem wouldn't get catch inna di crossfire. It was pure madness as everybody try fi save dem life while di gunmen carried out dem wicked task.
By di time di smoke clear and di gunmen vanish into di night, di damage was already done. Di patron did lay down pon di floor, motionless. It was a bloody scene dat leave everyone inna shock. People couldn't believe dat dem man yah could be so heartless, fi order a drink and then turn round and tek a life inna such a cold-blooded way. It show seh some people have no regard fi human life and dem ready fi dweet anywhere, anytime, without even thinking twice about di pain dem cause.
Police eventually reach di scene and cordon off di area with dem yellow tape. Di blue and red lights did a flash against di walls of di bar, a grim reminder of di violence dat just take place. Detectives were seen moving up and down, looking fi shell casings and talking to witnesses who were still shaking from di ordeal. Di community members gather round, some whispering inna disbelief, others just shaking dem head at how di place getting more and more dangerous. Everyone just wondering when di gunmen dem ago stop haunt di streets.
Right now, di whole of St. Andrew on edge. People wondering when di madness ago stop and if dem can ever feel safe again. It’s a sad day when a man can’t even go a bar fi a drink and a lime without wondering if it ago be him last. Di police say dem a investigate and dem a look fi di suspects, but for now, another family is inna mourning and another life gone too soon because of some man who choose di path of crime and violence. Di vibes inna di community just heavy right now, as everybody pray fi some peace and justice.
