A senior citizen was dragged before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday to answer to charges after she allegedly kicked a child in his belly and on his leg.
Charged with cruelty to a child is Evlyn Brown. She pleaded not guilty to the offence. The court heard that Brown allegedly kicked the boy on his right leg and in his belly.
The child, who was in court, told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey, while pointing to the accused, that she was the one who kicked him.
The court was told that at least two witnesses are available. The medical in the matter was also outstanding. Brown is to return to court on May 5. A fingerprint order was also made.
