A St Catherine man who has been accused of robbing and chopping his brother repeatedly was remanded when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Delford Paisley of Newland, Portmore, St Catherine, pleaded not guilty to felonious wounding when he appeared in court.
He was remanded until April 7, when the matter will again be mentioned.
Allegations are that on February 22, the complainant came home from church. He was called by the accused whom he told he would be with shortly. The accused allegedly went to his door and knocked violently.
When the complainant went out, the accused, who is his brother, attacked him with a machete and began robbing him.
The complainant complied but was reportedly chopped on his head and his left hand. The court was told that he had used his hand to block one of the blows which almost severed it.
It is said the complainant ran and screamed for help with blood all over his body. He was rescued and taken to hospital where he was hospitalised.
After he was released, a report was given to the police which resulted in Paisley being arrested and charged with felonious wounding.
