Children receive counselling after witnessing crime

Students of the Angels Primary School in St Catherine are undergoing counselling after a gunman invaded the school and robbed a teacher right in front of them yesterday.
Reports are that about 11:30 a.m., a female teacher was conducting a class when a gunman entered the premises through a rear section.
Acting principal, Gloria Crooks, acknowledged that incident took place and said the matter has been communicated to the Ministry of Education for its continued monitoring of the situation .

Meanwhile, the police said the hoodlum reportedly entered the school, took out his weapon and demanded the teacher's ring.
It is said that he escaped in woods near to the school.
As news of the criminal act spread, several parents went and removed their children from the institution.
The St Catherine North police have since launched a probe into the matter.
It was reported that for months criminals have been plaguing schools in St Catherine. Earlier this year, thieves broke into the Linstead Primary School.
A teacher at the Eltham Infant was also robbed of her wedding band recently.
