The Runaway Bay Police in St Ann have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the employment of three security guards who were found carrying firearms without the required documentation or qualification.
It is reported that the police were doing checks at a resort in St Ann when the security guards were searched and the breaches detected.
When the police interviewed one of the men, he said he had no training in the use and care of a firearm and had not been granted a permit for the weapon. Further investigations led to the arrest of the other two security guards, one of whom is a supervisor.
All three security guards were employed to a security firm which was contracted by another company employed by the resort.
Detectives at the Runaway Bay Criminal Investigation Branch have widened their investigations to the companies implicated in the matter.
