Alleged bigamist to face court again

A man charged with bigamy, who had his case transferred from the last session of the St Thomas Circuit Court, is expected to again face the courts this week.

Funeral director Albert Brown of Albion, St Thomas, is accused of marrying his second wife, Pamella Allen Sutherland, while still married to his first wife, Karen Green Brown.

In 2009, allegations were made against Brown that he had two wives. Brown introduced Allen Sutherland as his wife to investigators, but further investigation revealed that both women had marriage certificates, with no evidence that the first marriage had been legally terminated.

Brown was subsequently arrested and charged.
