Police investigators in the St Catherine South Division have recaptured a suspect who challenged them following a robbery. The man was held by the police last Saturday, after he managed to free himself while at the hospital.
Reports are that last Friday morning, police personnel went on a raid in Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine. When they approached a house, they were challenged by the suspect who brandished a 9mm pistol.
He was shot and injured by the police who took him to the hospital about 8:50 a.m. He was placed under police guard.
About 2 a.m. last Saturday, he managed to escape from the police.
An investigation was launched and he was held along Burke Road in Spanish Town.
His name has been withheld pending further investigations.
