Man accused of biting girlfriend case thrown out

A man who is accused of biting his girlfriend on her nose during a dispute had his case thrown out in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court on Thursday, after no evidence was offered against him.

Jason Smith, 29, of Sarah Street, Kingston 4, had been charged with unlawful wounding and simple larceny.

The court heard that the accused and the complainant shared a common-law relationship and the two got into a dispute on April 16.

Its alleged that the accused took away the complainant's phone and refused to give it back. It is reported that during a tussle between the two, the accused bit the female on her nose, causing a wound.

The matter was reported to the police and he was arrested.

In court, however, Senior RM Judith Pusey said that the accused could go after the complainant said that she did not want to continue with the case.
