A 42-year-old secondary school principal, accused of raping a teacher, was given bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The accused man revealed to the court that he also teaches grade-three students.
During court, the principal's attorney alleged that the claims made by the complainant, who is believed to be a teacher at the school, have arisen out of "ill will and malice".
The attorney further stated that the complainant had a personal vendetta against his client.
Seemingly rejecting the attorney's claims, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said: "What? You saw the medical? This is an employee of his company, that is making strong allegations with a strong medical," as she perused the medical report.
The man was given bail in the sum of $200,000 with surety and ordered to return to court on February 20 for trial. Pusey also ordered the man to surrender his travel documents, and made a finger-print order.
