A man, who an eyewitness claims chopped off a dog's back leg, was further remanded yesterday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court when the matter was mentioned.
Charged with cruelty to animal is Cion Hunter. He pleaded not guilty to chopping the animal.
no statement
The court was told that someone saw him and reported it to the complainant, however the eyewitness is yet to give an official statement to the police.
The prosecution is however arranging a subpoena for the alleged eyewitness to come forward.
The court heard that both Hunter and the complainant reside on the same premises but in separate buildings.
Resident Magistrate Shelly-Williams asked Hunter, "Is there anywhere else you can live?"
Hunter said, "No I came from St Mary and work in town ... ."
The magistrate then told the accused that because he had nowhere to relocate to she would further remand him.
The complainant then interjected and said he was willing to move from the location.
They are to return to court April 7 to tell the judge if the relocation exercise was successful.
