Chaos prevailed along a section of Half-Way Tree road yesterday as a Coaster bus is reported to have crashed into a bus stop just outside of the Institute of Academic Excellence (IAE), injuring three persons.
The Half-Way Tree police on the scene told THE STAR that at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Toyota Coaster bus is believed to have lost its brakes.
In attempts to make an emergency stop, the driver of the bus reportedly veered off the road. The bus slammed into a bus stop hitting three female pedestrians. The injured women were taken to hospital, the police official said.
He shared that the Half-Way Tree Fire Brigade reported to the scene to cut sections of the mangled bus stop to free the bus which obstructed the flow of traffic.
Up to press time THE STAR was unable to ascertain the condition of the injured pedestrians.
